Concert Bass Drum and roll improvement
The bass drum in musescore is the kind you would find on a drum set. It can often sound awkward when fitting it into classical music pieces, as it sounds more like a tom than a bass drum. It needs to resonate more. Also, the rolls need improvement, especially for the bass drum and timpani, as they sound too much like a machine gun. They need to blend more, like they would when rolling on a real timpani or bass drum.

Welcome, Megan! You're quite right about the default bass drum sound. To change it, go to the View menu, choose "Mixer", and you'll be able to switch to a very good orchestral percussion sound (called "Orchestra Kit").

Hello, I noticed this answer here..... If i use the mixer the bass drum sound is the same... What should i do to change it??

Pitch of drums is built into the soundfont. So if the soundfont you are currently using isn't to your liking, try a different one. Or just a different "kit" within the standard soundfont. See the Handbook sections on soundfonts and on the mixer for more info.
