Kicks Over Time Problem
Hello. I am having trouble adding kicks over time. I am following the instructions I've found on other forum posts. I enter the notes and rests I want to be above the staff normally in voice 1. Then I exchange them to voice 3 with the voice exchange function under the Tools menu. Then I select the entire measure and toggle rhythmic slash notation. Then I fill the measure with slashes but then that function brings the kicks over time rests down to overlap with the slashes.
I can not figure out a way to keep the rests above the staff with slashes in the middle of the staff. I am going to have to enter the kicks over time and then make voice 1 completely opaque and then draw the slashes in by hand after printing. Sorry if I am not being descriptive enough. Do I need to upload the musescore file? What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help. I'm trying to improve at Big Band arranging and I am resisting making the switch to Finale.

I believe this is a known bug.
The workaround is to select all voice 3 rests again (for example via right click and Select > More) and use the inspector to give them back a correct "fix to line" value.

Actually, there is no "fix to line" settings for rest; but you can add a negative offset instead.
This is due to a bug in MuseScore 3 - the rest should avoid the slashes automatically. It's already fixed for the upcoming MuseScore 4.

Thank you both for the quick reply! Happy to hear that it's already been noted and fixed. Looking forward to MuseScore 4.
