Musescore 4 Soundfonts Not Included?
Musescore 4 looks excellent but it is missing its vast amounts of soundfonts it had on previous versions. Does anyone have a clue when it will it we be available to the public?

Speaking of soundfonts in MS4, one thing I can't find how to do is to select an instrument sound from a soundfont file that I have loaded in MS4. Once I insert my sf2 file in the right folder, when I open the mixer (F10), my soundfont is there, alright, but I don't see how I can select one of the instruments from that soundfont. In MS3 that was part of the mixer features, and I can't believe that it's all gone in MS4. Where is it now?

The feature to select a patch within a soundfont is coming in a future release.
In the meantime, load a free VST such as Sforzando or Sfizz and use them to load your soundfont.
Another approach is to split the soundfont into separate soundfonts that each only contain 1 patch; thus forcing MuseScore to use that patch from it.

For that I use Viena soundfont editor. It is free.

As I said before, I use Viena soundfont editor for that and it works fine. It is a free, well designed program.

You simply load the sf2 file into Viena, remove the patches you don't want and save as a new sf2 file, preferably with the name of the remaining patch.

To keep the new file small, also remove all the instruments and samples which will not be used in the new file.
