MuseScore Audacity link
I noticed Audacity in Muse Hub. Would it be heavy if we could link MuseScore and Audacity as master and slave, and both sides of cause. It could be done with rewire or with ableton link or even with a custom link. This would be very useful.

or with jack ....
When would you use this? Audacity is a pretty useless program for music production, only suitable for editing short clips of sounds - which isn't exactly what MuseScore is used for.

I wouldn't to be clear.
But Audacity has jack build in - unless they also ditched it because not compatible with their presumed long term strategy.

This is how I see it.
The link would bring audio recording/playback/editing to MuseScore. I use MuseScore for composing, not for producing nice looking scores. Now with the new instruments and VST3 plus audio recording/playback/editing vocal or real instrument playing parts (simple) songs could be produced without a DAW.
I have searched for a free VST plugin audio recorder/player, but have not found it.
Other way round, Ableton link or rewire would bring MuseScore notation to a DAW .
We can of cause transfer a MuseScore composition to any DAW as a MIDI file and reorganize instruments, then add the audio parts. This does not allow a convenient jumping back and forth between composing and audio recording stages however, an incremental working style so.
Now, I speculate that the Audacity will soon become subject to a total overhaul too and get some typical DAW capabilities.

Nice plan.
But like i said, Audacity has that capability via open source jack. That is what virtually all major open source projects use(d), at least when they are multi platform. MS also had jack, but they ditched it
