Cross stave notation can still be better by default
Moving notes to the stave above or below does not remove the rests, even though there are notes being played in that stave.
Slurs cannot cross staves if the notes are in different staves.

P. S. I do not want to have to make all the rests invisible, or manually adjust triplets intersecting with the beams of notes. It would be better if these could be done logically.

Got this, but it did take some work. But true, not being default. Maybe you could suggest this in the forum under Feature Request or something.

That is a great improvement, but maybe the second and third 3’s can go below

you could just select the 3s and press key "x" or select the 3s and go to inspector Tuplet->Direction, choose up or down.
