Chord playback instrument change
How do I change the the playback instrument for chords? The notes change but the chords always play as piano. My playback controls only show rewind, play/pause, loop repeats, pan and metronome. I can't find any way of adding "control settings".

In Mu4 you currently can't
Well, you can, but only by picking another sound from Muse Sounds, in the Mixer

Does MU 4.3 do it, do you know?

"Does MU 4.3 do it, do you know?"
Probably you will find the answer if you read the release notes for Mu 4.3, in particular the section headed "New features in 4.3":

In MuS 4.2.1 (and previous versions, I believe?), if you make a guitar staff, the chords will play with a guitar sound. You can then change the Staff/Part properties to play with another instrument and the chords will continue playing with guitar.
All the other instruments that I've tried in the Mixer will only play the root note, even instruments that can physically play chords.

Thanks for all the replies. I searched the handbook and also the forum threads but it gets very overwhelming, especially if you don't frame the question/search right. Currently, my issue is I'm marking chords on a keyboard portion of an orchestral score that is supposed to use a certain synthesized sound. That sound file is available on MuseScore but yeah, it just plays the piano sound if you only write the chord name. My score has to be printable/readable by a conductor so chord names are better than writing out all the chords.
Thanks again. The forum is so very helpful. I hope that I will be able to offer answers to others at some point. I don't think I'm at that point yet. 8-) But I do love MuseScore.
