Bend tool not working at all in MuseScore 4
When I add a bend tool to a note, and play it back, the note does not bend.
Note also that if I subsequently drag the bend tool, in order to reposition it on the score, there is no dotted line connecting the bend tool with the note. That gives the appearance the the bend tool is not even associated with the note.

MuseScore 4's Handbook has a page titled:
MuseScore 3 features not implemented in MuseScore 4
The issue of Guitar bends is the 5th item under Playback.

This could be a blessing for me, or it could be a disaster.
I am very concerned that it is listed as a "Guitar bend" rather than as a "Bend tool", and that it is discussed as part of the guitar palette.
Woodwind players (incl. sax players and flute players) bend notes all the time. Even keyboardists sometimes do pitch bends.
SINCE THE TOOL IS BEING REVAMPED ANYWAY, LET'S PLEASE GENERALIZE IT.
Here is what I would love to see:
Expand the pitch range in both directions. It would be great to have the standard pitch as the middle line instead of as the bottom of the chart. Guitars strech upwards in pitch. Flutes bend downward in pitch. Saxes and keyboards can go in either direction.
The current workaround for me, a flutist, is to use the "Tune" parameter of the note to drop the pitch lower than it will really start, and then to compensate with the "Pre-bend" option (or graph) in the Bend tool. This is workable, but awkward, and hard for someone else to understand of modify your score. I also use the bend tool to get a continuous portamento rather than a discrete glissando. Each note along the glide is bent to meet the start of the next note. (I have a version of the clarinet opening from "Rhapsondy in Blue" that I wrote in MuseScore 3, that I was going to upload, but now it will need to wait until MuseScore 4.x implements bending).
PLEASE, a bend tool is not just for guitarists. Many instruments need it.
Please submit a feature request along these lines.
Gratefully,
David D.

Did you use the Bend tool from the Articulations palette>More? Or the Guitar Palette? (I don't know if they are functionally distinct.)
There's this entry in the MS3 Handbook.
And this entry from the MS4 handbook.

Thanks for the follow-up, Scorester.
I used the Bend tool from the articulations palette.
I did not realize that there were two distinct Bend tools.
Therefore, my enhancement request would apply to the articulations version (if they are different from each other).
Do I need to submit the enhancement request in a specific place?

However, the MuseScore 4 manual does say that Fall, Do-it, Plop and Scoop have an effect on the playback.
I will try that. In MuseScore 3, they were for notation only, with no effect on playback. I wonder why the manual says that they apply to brass instruments, rather than to brass and woodwind instruments. Is that an oversight in the implementation?
Thank you for the link. I did not know that there was a distinct MuseScore 4 manual.
The reference to the handles on the symbol made me think that a cubic spline with handles would be an alternative approach to the line graph in the old Bend tool. (As long as they are rethinking the implemenation anyway).
