MuseScore installation failing on Windows 11
UPDATE: It looks like this isn't so much an installation issue as a launch issue. MuseScore was installed, but it would not launch after installation because it did not like my audio settings. When I disabled my audio interface (a Behringer UMC404HD), MuseScore launched. But this still reflects a bug in MuseScore: it should at least alert the user, rather than failing silently, when it can't launch because of an audio-driver issue.
Original post: I cannot get MuseScore to install successfully on Windows 11. However I run the installer, it appears to install correctly, but it will not launch. The "Loading" screen displays for a few seconds, then goes away, and MuseScore does not open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled; I have restarted in between installation, uninstallation, and reinstallation; I have installed from MuseHub and from the standalone installer; and I have run the installer, without uninstalling, and selected the "Repair" option. The "Repair" installation seems to work, but again, MuseScore won't load. It displays the loading screen, which disappears.
Something seems to be wrong with the MuseScore installer. Here are my system and Windows specs:
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.9 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
OS build 22621.1265
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

This will sound odd, but not long ago someone couldn't get MS4 to load because of their sound setup. Do you have an audio interface plugged in? This person did and when he unhooked it and set audio in the computer settings ( Control Panel/Sound) to default, then he could launch MS4. Possible driver issue.

This workaround was effective. When I disconnected my audio interface, MuseScore loaded. This is clearly a bug in MuseScore, though. If it doesn't like the system audio settings, it should not fail silently. It should alert the user to the issue so they can fix it. Thanks for your response! I hope MuseScore developers are paying attention!

I use a Focusrite Scarlett without issue. Could there be a driver issue with yours. In fact I use a few cheap interfaces that work. also.
If you change system setting while MS4 is open you will get a warning that any open applications will stop working.

Also go to Control Panel/Sound/select your interface/select "Properties"/select "Advanced"/turn off "Exclusive mode".
