How do I get rid of several instruments part way through my score?

In MuseScore 3 and 4:
Format>Style>Score
Look for Hide empty staves within system
In MuseScore 4 there's also Properties Panel>Score Appearance>Empty staves
In the v4 Handbook search for "empty" on this page.
