Musescore crashes when I open this file
I'm currently taking an arranging class and I had to make this arrangement for a grade. When I went to open it today it automatically crashed Musescore 4.0.1. I've tried other computers and the same thing. Is this file fixable at all?

I was able to extract the .mscx file and looking inside, I noticed what looked (to me) like strange negative fractions for ties and slurs. Removing them allowed the score to be opened and saved.
See if this MuseScore 4 file works for you:
Chaplin Anti-Hero Final Draft-M4.mscz
You will need to check wherever the slurs and ties need to be replaced.

Thank you. I was also able to open it in a nightly version. I think there must be a bug in 4.0.1 that they fixed.

That's good news. Progress is being made in 4.x's stability.
OK This is odd. I saw nothing out of the ordinary when I extracted it. But this opens OK. Atleast on my system.

Hmm... I see your attachment contains the ties and slurs.
So, did the OP's (.mscz) attachment crash for you and you extracted the .mscx file which opened without an issue? Then you saved it as .mscz and attached here?
Are you using MuseScore 4.0.1?
(I'm still at 4.0.0 )

Don't use 4.0.0, 4.0.1 got released for good reason

Yes, that's likely true for each new release, so it's important to stay current.
4.0.0 was working just fine for me and I was apprehensive about possible regressions.
Plus, the procrastinator in me lives by this statement: "If it weren't for the last possible moment, nothing would ever get done." ;-)
(BTW: Have you slept since the 4.0 release?)
