I assume you are talking about the recent score list that appears on the Home tab? It updates automatically to show your most recently used scores. There's nothing in particular to be gained from removing something from the list, but you can always use "File / Open recent / Clear recent files" to reset it completely. Note your scores themselves are never affected by any of this - they are just ordinary files on your computer that you would would delete normally.
It's possible a future update may contain a control to remove files from the recent list individually.

"It's possible a future update may contain a control to remove files from the recent list individually."
This would be very useful and would be welcomed. A similar question has been asked on the French forum in recent days.
I was about to ask for this feature which, it seems to me, should not be too difficult to implement, inspired by what has been done on LibreOffice. It seems to me that it would be necessary to manipulate the Musescore.ini file (you can do it with a text editor at your own risk ;-) )

Looks like a fix is imminent. See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/16507

Well I'd like to more easily clear the sample files downloaded from this forum used to analyse bugs.

Any fix that requires code or editing of configuration files is a sloppy workaround.

Sure. But it is a workaround.
I would rather see the score corruptions and bugs be fixed, so you wouldn't have sample files downloaded from this forum used to analyze bugs to start with.
I think it is inoff to clean the teatle that we don't want in the listle.

"Clear recents files" clean all the files, which ones you want out and which ones you want to keep.

Where is this magical command? It's not on the file menu (4.0.1) or available from a context menu on the Scores dashboard

File/Open Recent. -> last on list: Clear recent files.
(will remove everything from list)
This doesn't seem to work in the latest version. Scrolling down just keeps showing a list of all the files and the 'clear recent list' never appears.

You need to scroll all the way to the end of the list. One way is to hover over the top item to highlight it, then press Up, which cycles the selection to the bottom of the list (even though you can't see it). Or, you can use Edit / Preferences / Shortcuts to define a shortcut for the command.

I could not get the 'up' to work, but defining a shortcut did work. Thanks! I would have never figured that out.

I have found that, when the list gets to some certain length (which I have not been able to identify yet), it pushes that command off the bottom of the list. That is, scrolling to the bottom of the list no longer displays it.
I had not identified the Up key from the top of the list, which appears to work. We'll see if it still works when I get the list maxed out so the Clear recent entry no longer displays.
