Changing Pitch from A440 to A415 (Or A430)
Hi,
A quick question. I have been changing the pitch standard to playback lute music so that it matches the sound of a lute tuned to A=415Hz. Also a romantic period guitar tuned to 430HZ.
Previously this worked fine. I used the synthesiser panel to change the standard pitch and saved it to the file.
But just recently the sound has been distorted, both for files with 415 and 430HZ. Changing back to 440Hz is fine, sounds normal.
I haven't updated software or soundfiles as far as I am aware. It just stopped working recently.
Any suggestions?

Yeah that's what I did. That's not the problem.
Playback is distorted when changed to 415Hz
Now that the synthesizer is gone, is it no longer possible to change the pitch? Or is this feature implemented elsewhere?

I have updated to Musescore 4. MS 3 was simple enough for me to understand. I could use the synthesiser panel to change the standard pitch from A= 440HZ to 415HZ
But I can't do it in MS 4.
I have tried searching the MS 4 Handbook but it doesn't help.
Any clues as to do I change the Pitch Standard to 415 Hz?

The Synthesiser is gone, but alternatively you can obtain a pitch of 415Hz (and others) by doing: select your entire score (Ctrl + A) -> In Properties panel, at Playback/Tuning: set to -100 (cents).
The value of 100 cents is equal to a semitone, so when you listen to it, it will be identical.

Thank you, that worked.
A=415 worked fine of course. -100c as you said.
A=430 was a bit trickier. I will have to work out the math to get the right value. But I used a tuner to get it tuned. -40c sounds OK
Though the previous method in Synth panel was a lot easier

Thank you for doing the math to get the right value (for A=430). This may be useful to others.
Of course, I agree, the native function is missing.
