Unicode glyphs not displayed properly in the footer.
OS: macOS 13.3, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.2-230651546, revision: dbe7c6d
I'm trying to display Creative Commons licensing information in the footer, and as I want it to look fancy, I included the circled symbols 🅭 (U+1F16D), 🅯 (U+1F16F), 🄏 (U+1F10F), ⊜ (U+229C), 🄎 (U+1F10E), and 🄍 (U+1F10D), with the footer font set to a unicode capable one (Arial Unicode). However, these symbols are still displayed as boxes in the footer.

The actual score, the mscz file. And if it stems from a MusicXML import, that XML file too

Hmm, seems Arial Unicode MS simply doesn't contain these glyphs

Ah, I see. Looks like Microsoft didn't update the font after Creative Commons got their symbols to be added to the standard.
I found this fallback font: https://www.ctrl.blog/entry/creative-commons-unicode-fallback-font.html
Unfortunately it contains only the CC glyphs, so using that would not display any other text, such as the name of the licensing entity.
Somehow I never came across this problem in other apps. For example: My browser displays the CC-symbols in my original post here perfectly. Is this macOS's conversion to a fallback font implemented at the system level, or is this achieved via the CSS of this forum?

This is a free font that contains the CC glyphs, in addition to Latin characters and a ton of CJK unified ideographs. I'll use this for now.
I actually sometimes write scores with song titles and lyrics in Chinese. Sometimes fonts with beautiful-looking Han characters have rather ghastly Latin characters, which is why some word processing programmes allow users to configure different fonts for different unicode ranges. I would actually love to see something similar implemented in MuseScore! I'll see if I can make a feature request.

Seems a good cause for an enhancement request for Edwin (and maybe Leland too), so feel free to go to https://github.com/MuseScoreFonts/Edwin/issues/new and request the addition of those glyphs
