Page view glitches; PDF is partially blank

• May 3, 2023 - 02:11

This only just started happening today.

I am compiling a score and within individual parts of the score, I am noticing a glitch occur depending on where I place the score in the viewfinder. This was easy enough to work around, but when I saved my work to PDF, the pdf came out blank after the first page, just like the glitch when the page was dragged a little higher in the viewfinder.

I tried adjusting the page settings to different page sizes. Didn't help.

While I was editing, the other glitch was that I added an image to the left side of the score title page, and noticed that it would be stationary when I moved the score, meaning it would "drag itself lower" in the score to maintain its position while I dragged the score around in the viewfinder. It would then no longer be a clickable, editable item.

I also tried cutting and pasting the document to a new file. That didn't work. As soon as the score is more than a page, the glitch happens and the resulting PDF is blank after page 1.

A nice challenge, and one which I couldn't solve in MS 4.0.2. There seems to be an invisible object taking up space between page 2 and page 3.

Instead I did this:
1. In MS 4.0.2 export the score as MusicXML
2. In MS 3.6.2 open the MusicXML file and save as normal .mscz format
3. Select all the "invisible" blank space between page 2 and page 3, and press Ctrl+Delete
4. Save the score again
5. In MS 3.6.2 export as PDF format - and it seems to be normal

I had the same issue with a score I am working on, with pages disappearing when I scroll and the pdf coming out blank after page 2. I ended up doing a similar thing. I exported as an XML and then opened it in MuseScore 3 and finished my edits there. Such a bizarre glitch!
