Large sizes on page - 8 measures per page

• May 16, 2023 - 08:08

Because i want to make reading music easier for me I want to format the page in landscape and show just two lines, 4 measures per line, on the page. So just 8 measures per page. This will make everything very large. I'll have a lot of pages but can reformat as I learn the music.

How do I do that?

The Handbook is indeed the way to learn how to do that and more. Meanwhile, the short answer is, add system breaks every four bars via Format / Add/Remove system breaks or manually for any selected measure by pressing Enter, and page breaks by hitting Ctrl+Enter.

The handbook may seem TLDR, so to get you started...
Here's a 'regular' score:
Home on the Range.mscz

Here's a large landscape:
Home on the Range_large.mscz
To zoom in/out you can scroll up/down with the mouse scroll wheel while holding Ctrl (Mac: Cmd).

You can compare the two scores to see the settings differences in:
Format > Page settings... look at 'Landscape' and 'Staff space'.
Format > Style > Page -- look at distances.

To break a line of music, see:

To break to a new page:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/pages-and-vertical-spacing#page-bre…

You can also click on elements (like text, measure numbers...) and compare settings in the Properties panel located to the left of the score: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/properties-panel

One other thing...
