MuseScore 4 has some problems with crescendos and diminuendos
When I'm writing a score, sometimes as I'm using a diminuendo and I have a dynamic that is for the diminuendo and one for the next note after, it continues applying the dynamic until there's a third dynamic.

Look at the hidden notes.

To me it sounds like the ppp is quieter in the measures without the hidden notes. It could be because of the tied notes. Ties are doing some strange things in MU4 right now. It's also hard to tell because in the diminuendo measures sometime you have two notes playing. Sometimes three or even four.
Is there a point to the hidden notes?

Because in the measures with hidden notes, the next notes are also ppp even though I put it as pp.

I'll listen again. But I'm not sure I hear that problem. Though I wish you had mentioned exactly what you just did. I listened using Basic sounds and Muse sounds. The main difference I heard was the measures with the hidden notes didn't get as soft. But I'll listen again.

Basically it gets stuck on ppp even if there is another dynamic after it. My way of getting around it was to make it look as though it is just a quarter note, but there is a note after it, that is hidden, so it actually sounds right.

OK. Here is what I think.
I actually have no way to measure the volume difference between ppp and pp. Especially when there are different numbers of notes when the ppp ends and the pp starts. Recorded sounds don't always playback accurately. In general, I hear the measures with the hidden notes not getting as quiet as the the measures with out. Especially measure 18. And it make a difference which note of the hidden pair you have associated the ppp with. I think you might be expecting too much from playback at this very low volume. Experiment with MuseSounds as well as basic sounds. Try different instruments and different volumes. And you will see what I mean.

It does the same thing for other dynamics as well. This was just the one I thought of first, because I had to do the most to it.

Well, all I can say is that on my system, the pp is always louder after a ppp. It's the ppp that doesn't get as soft on the hidden note measures. No idea why that is.
