Export settings in v4
Export to Musicxml, in v3, retained the previous choices:
Musicxml (or we could choose pdf etc.)
Uncompressed...
No system or page breaks...
But in v4 those choices are not retained, so every time we export we have to make those choices again.
Edit > Preferences has a tab for Import but not for Export.
Is there a way to retain those choices for subsequent exporting in v4? If not, could a way be provided?

These settings are now on the export dialog

Yes, thanks, but with V3 the chosen settings were remembered by the program, and reappeared each time we exported. If we wanted to export 100 times in a session with the same export choices, we'd only have to make those choices once -- they would automatically come back again with the same values the next time. Now with V4 we have to make all those choices afresh 100 times! It is a huge difference, and I don't understand why that automatic remembering was abandoned in V4. I'd suggest reinstating it (or perhaps including it in Preferences).

That's what MuseScore does, it does remember the last used settings

It did in V3, but not in V4. I'm using V4.0.2 under Windows 10. Here's what I click on and see:
File > Export
I see "PDF file", and change it to "musicXML".
I see "Compressed (.mxl)", and change it to "Uncompressed (.musicxml).
I then choose "Manually added ...".
I leave "Open destination folder..." unchecked.
I click on "Save".
Then again File > Export.
I see "PDF file" again, and again have to change it to "musicXML".
I see "Compressed (.mxl)" again, and again have to change it to "Uncompressed (.musicxml).
I don't have to choose "Manually added ...", because the program did remember that one.
I leave "Open destination folder..." unchecked.
I click on "Save".
As you can see, it doesn't remember some of those choices (though it did in V3). Is it any different at your end?

You mention exporting several times, have you opened all your MuseScore files before starting to export ?
Then it is normal that these settings are not remembered, every file is opened in its own Musescore instance and a change of setting in one of them doesn't impact the other ones.
Welcome to Musescore 4...

So it does remember that "Manually added ..." seeting, same as Mu3. That is the one that Mu3 had in Preferences > Export

Update to 4.1, it remembers the last used settings, at least for any given instance.

4.0.2 does it too...

Not for me it doesn't - keeps reverting to PDF. That's on Linux, but this doesn't seem likely to be system-dependent. Nor does it remember compressed/uncompressed once I manually select MusicXML again. Only the layout setting gets remembered.

True, I'm talking only about these

I've just updated to 4.1. As you say, it remembers all the settings for the file you're currently working on, but not in other cases. Version 3 was fine in this respect, but its convenience was then lost. This could easily be handled either by reinstating the V3 scheme or by providing a (full-featured) Preferences > Export (which is strangely absent from V4/V4.1).
This might seem a small point but, if one is working on a number of files in the one session, or in subsequent sessions, and exporting them frequently, it can make a real difference in the pleasantness of using the program.

Mu3's Preferences > Export is fully covered already.
What you're missing is that MU4 remembers the last file type
