Isit possible to input the free orchestra by project sam into musecore 4?
I know this is a stupid idea but while I was messing around with some soundfonts a thought suddenly came to me about the free orchestra vst by project sam. I heard from somewhere (idk if it's true) that musecore 4 will support vst's so is it possible to get the free orchestra sound to musescore?

You should be able to use it just like any other VST3.
You need Kontakt (player) for it.
(Install Native Instruments Native Access, Install Kontakt player, Install SAM free orchestra)
You know that this is not a 'classical' orchestra, but more, as they say it "A cinematic introduction"?

oh so it is possible? and yes I know it isn't really for musecore. I had no intention of using it for anything just a random thought but now that it might be possible I might try to do it. But I'm still wondering how it would work. Where do I put the vst so it loads in musecore? And the vst has multiple instruments, how do I make the "whirling winds" sound or whatever it was called usable for winds like flute and oboe?

SAM free orchestra is a Kontakt instrument.
You will have to learn Kontakt (player) to use it. (you can learn anything on youtube...)
If you install Kontakt Player, Musescore will detect the VST3 and make it available in the mixer.
(i am no Kontakt specialist, but lots of instruments use it. Most instruments require the full version of Kontakt, Sam free orchestra is some kind of exception)

interesting, my understanding is once I download kontakt player I can open the mixer in musecore. Then it opens the player. and if I play some notes in the player, then it's gonna appear in the staff and play?

No, it is just a player. It will not "gonna appear in the staff "
You will have to choose in the mixer's 'sound' slot => vst3 => Native Instruments => Kontakt
You must also install the SAM free orchestra of course. (also via Native Access). Follow guidelines from the site after registering.
It will play the notes already in the staff.

oh so I just pick an instrument from the player then just use the staff interface? I thought you had to play the notes in the player then it would appear in the staff. I'm gonna try it now so sorry if I have to bombard you with more questions but lets just see

Ok so I've tried it now and I know how it works. But like you said it's really for cinematic purposes not for casual use so I'm probably not gonna use it but with now knowing musecore 4 supports vst's I'll try finding some any soundfonts or vst's in this case that sound realistic to an orchestra?
