Incorrect Playback Speed and Rhythms
For some reason musescore keeps playing the wrong rhythms for my piece. Everything sounded fine a few days ago, but now some parts will play faster/slower than others at certain sections and some parts do a completely different rhythm than what I have notated. I've looked through and adjusted literally everything I could think of and restarted my computer multiple times to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix this?? I've added the score but I don't think it'll make a difference because I'm sure it's just my computer, but please let me know if something can be done.

You can check the minimum system requirements to run MuseScore 4 successfully here:
https://musescore.org/en/download#System-requirements
And to check your own computer's specification, on Windows I would go to:
Windows Explorer > This PC > right-click > Properties

I have a MacBook. It's completely up to date so there shouldn't be any problem on that end. It requires at least the version 11 and I have 12.

Up to date isn't the question. You need at least 8gb of ram and an SSD.

I'm sorry that I even have to ask, but what is that and how do I find out if I have it?

My computer has 8gb of memory and plenty left in storage. I hadn't downloaded anything and no changes or updates to my computer or its specs had been done. My computer has always had what it needed to run the app, as it's been working perfectly fine for a year. It's only now that it has started to work wrong and there has been no change to my computer.

SSD=solid state drive. If your computer is less than two years old, it probably has one. And 8gb of ram is the minimum. 16 is recommended. A restart also helps.

Mine is from 2016. Do you think that if I increased the amount of ram it would work? It has worked fine up until now. I was able to fix the audio in mp3 export but changing the sample rate, but changing the sample rate for my computer didn't fix the problem in musescore.

I wish I could be more help. I wish I could say that more ram would be a sure thing. It is interesting that everything seemed to be OK earlier, but not now. There have been several reports of this kind of thing, lately. I'll see what else I can find.
I have the same issue. It was fine just a few hours ago for me. Now the strings are way ahead of time and some rhythmic figures are rushed.
I noticed that when I use the old sounds it plays it correctly. But the old sounds don't allow for a good preview otherwise.

Yeah, that's how it was for me. I'm starting to wonder if it's a problem with the system itself. What kind of computer do you use? If it's the same, then there's probably an issue with the model.

Were you ever able to find out what was going on with yours?

I'm not completely sure as I haven't had the time to test it, but I think the problems started when I added a ritardando. Just now I added another one and the timing became even worse!
Plus, it seems to play with a lot more portamento than before for some reason.

That's weird. It happened well after I put a rit in, but I noticed that the rhythms play normally when I put accents over legato notes. It's like it needs something to reinforce the note value.

Thanks for that! I was able to fix the playback for audio but what I really need fixed is the playback in musescore, not so much the exported playback. I tried changing the sample rate of my computer but that did nothing to solve the problem. Do you know if there's a way to fix it in the actual score, and not just the exported audio?
