Help needed with formatting overlapping parts
I am trying to have the dotted minim before the quaver movement. I am not able to find a reliable way, I have used different voicing and manually moved the notes by de-selecting 'auto place' but none are a permanent fix.
Very grateful for any help!

Open the Properties tab. Select the dotted note. Select Appearance. Hit the arrow in Offset to move the note.

Thanks for this suggestion but unfortunately the actual dot of the dotted minim doesn't 'offset' with the note. This is what I am finding at least.

And you can select the dot and move it the same way. Magnify the score to be able to see the dot better.
When I experimented with this in different configurations, sometimes the dot did not move. The problem is getting stems to line up like you may want.
