Can I transcribe an audio file into sheet music
I am new to musescore. I have decades - and decades of writing music, teaching and performing behind me. I was hand drawing scores long before the advent of the computer. I have a lot of music online and it is all improv. I've been asked if I have the actual music. This site will be great for me to organize and print music I can enter in - but the last ten years have been 99% piano improv that was recorded using Audacity. That music - and many with 3-5 tracks can't be played it again, but I'd like to. Is there a way to transcribe audio files into sheet music. I would like to put together a book of my music if that is possible. My legacy for the next musician in my family. I recorded music for my family and I want to include the music for it.

No.
(Well, there are programs that will interpret some audio files into code but the results are generally disappointing for all but the simplest of tunes).
AnthemScore claims to be "the leading software for automatic music transcription". I tried it quite a while back and I was not impressed. And it's not free. But it might do what you need:

Your ears and memory will probably do better than software. And once you have sorted out what the notes are, Musescore will do a nice job if presenting them. You can also use it as an aid to your ear/memory as you can enter what you think the notes night be and then check by playing back. But no, there isn't a "Transcribe this audio file" button in Musescore.

Thank you for your input. It would take an enormous amount of time to try to learn what I played. The nature of improvisation is to play "off the top of your head". I have one series called - Tinkering on the Keys - which is how I warm up, playing up and down the piano keys. Some, if they are good enough, I upload into Audacity and then online. I play in every key,but mostly flat keys - 4,5 6 flats and always minor. I don't pay attention to what I play. I listen, or play in the dark. Figuring out all the notes would take forever. So I guess I will concentrate on the ones that have a score - some going back 45 years
People are working on it, hold out a little longer. [Not sure if they end up at MuseScore but once the technology is there, I'm sure a MuseScore Plugin will eventually be released]
