Playback pitch, tempo, etc completely out of whack??

I'm not exactly sure what to say other than I don't know why this is happening and I want it to go away. This began last week when I opened MuseScore 4. The pitch was not only an octave higher that notated without any indication to why, but the playback was extremely choppy, almost glitchy. Not only that, but no matter if I reset the tempo or changed it, it was always much faster than what was originally put.
