Adding a Line for Guitar No.2 [Solved]
Starting to find my way in MS 4.4.1 after having used version 2.3.2 for many many years.....
I am stuck with trying to add a Line above a measure of Guitar No.2 in a piece for 2 Guitars.
But whatever I try, MS 4.4.1 puts that line above the same measure for Guiar No.1 and refuses to place
it where I want it. I am certainly doing something wrong but what is it?
Could not find a solution in the 4.4 handbook.
By the way: is there a PRINTED version of this book? I hate to read texts from the monitor of my
PC.
I am using an AppImage and running PCLinuxOS KDE5 as O.S.

Typo error, 4.2.1
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/about-handbook#Browsing_chapters on how to download and print the entire handbook (print to PDF if need be)

I mean something Marc Sabatella has published a very long time ago.
Oh yes, I know how to print a pdf file though......
Seems you'de using a system line, that is supposed to be atop the system

No, I am NOT using a system line. Just selecting "Line" and drag it to a selected note.

Then I don't understand (or rather: can't reproduce) the problem, just using the straight line from the Lines palette works for me on any staff

Started the AppImage of the 3.6.0 version, made a new score for 2 Guitars and no problems with lines...
Of course I will share the score.

If 3.6, then better 3.6.2...
adding the line works just fine here, 4.2.1, Windows 11.
Maybe Help > Revert to factory settings is due

Will revert to factory settings. Then try again.
Let you know the result

PCLinuxOS is not a systemd linux O.S.
Perhaps that is the problem.

I don't see how that could be relevant
Try this...
Click into an empty spot of the Guitar 2 measure (to select the whole measure) and then click the 'Line' in the palette. (Don't drag it.)
---OR---
Use a 'Staff' line to place on the second staff; then, in the Properties panel, eliminate the end hook (under the 'Style' tab) and the word 'Staff' (under the 'Text' tab).

That first suggestion WORKS!!
Tried the second suggestion but, in the end, could not really understand what you meant by this.
But....., anyway....., that first suggestion I will use.
Many thanks for that!

? That's what you should have used in the first place, what I assumend you to have used.
How did you try earlier)

Originally I did this from the Handbook:
"Drag a line from a palette to the starting note"
And that caused my problem.
Now I do this from the Handbook:
"Select a range of notes,
Click on a line in a palette"
And that works.

Well, dragging certainly wotks too, if you find the 'sweet spot' to drop
On, darn, it does not! Seems there's a bug to report on GitGub...
At least Staff line and plain line are affected
