How to include repeats and endings in selection, copy, paste

I can select measures of notes and rests, copy, and paste them. Great. However, all repeat signs, 1st and 2nd endings, etc. are not included. How can I copy-paste a range of measures INCLUDING the repeats, etc.?

Even when I try to Ctrl-click on the repeat signs to add them to the current selection, when I paste, it just pastes the chords (?!), and no notes or anything else. When I try to select measures, then use the "Select..." in the context menu, then try to "Add to selection", it just replaces the selection with just the bar lines.
