Horn in C and Horn in E
I am transcribing (some) of Brahms' Academic Festival Overture. The score asks for Horn in C and Horn in E (rather than the default Horn in F included in the Symphony Orchestra template). I have been able to add Horn in C to the score but its key signature shows three flats (C minor) rather than no accidentals (C major), Also, the Horn in C created by Musescore has an upper range limit far below the one written by Brahms. I have not been able to find or create a Horn in E at all. Is there a solution for this?

There are 13 (!) horns in Musescore 3.7! Search under "All Instruments".
Yes, and the keys of these horns are different. If you want a C major, you should mark the score with a C major accidental. Then the horn in C has no accidental, the horn in F has a sharp and the horn in E has four flats.

Probably the horn in Brahms don't have a key signature at all.

There is indeed no key signature on the staff for either instrument on Brahms' score. It is simply named as Horns 1 and 3 in C (showing C minor key signature) , Horns 2 and 4 in E (showing (showing B major signature). With Hilde's help, reminding me how to use All Instruments and the drop down menu, I now have the horns ready! Thanks for your reply. It's good to know help can be found here!

Thank you so much. There is so much in Musescore which means there's much to forget. I had forgotten about that approach, "All instruments" and the dropdown menu for Horns. All good now!
