In Musescore 4 note input for A does not work
When putting notes in, all letters work just fine (B, C, D, E, F, G), but A doesn't work. The cursor jumps back to the start of the measure. I've already removed the shortcut and put it back in, to no avail. (My A-key works just fine in all other programs, including Musescore 3).
What can I do to get the A-input working as it is supposed to?

Works for me
sounds as if shortcut "A" is assigned to something else....
To check, export the shortcuts from Edit - Preferences - Shortcuts to an .xml file, open this file with a plain text editor (like Notepad) and search for
<seq>A</seq>
In my instance this shortcut is only assigned to note-a and fret-0 and I can enter note a.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I did check the preferences list and even changed the shortcut for fret-0, making sure that A was solely reserved for note a. I also removed and re-entered the shortcut there. Alas, the problem still persists.
Same here. When entering A it jumps to the beginning of the bar, and also jumps up to the top staff (I'm doing a three part score.) According to settings/shortcuts the A key is not already assigned to something else.
MacOS 12.6, Swedish keyboard
Tried resetting to factory settings, did not work.

Reset settings worked for me. I believe it started after using keyboard note input for Drums.
I have the same problem on my Mac. I found a workaround: Shift + A. But it is still very annoying.
Same here, Shift+A works fine

Change language to English. Work for me. Then reset
Removing the shortcut for: "Enter TAB: fret 0" to just 0 and not "A" worked for me.

Yes! For me too, thanks!
I just got this problem as well.
As far as I know I never had this problem before. Not even in version 4.
Mac os M1, Monterey, Musescore version 4.2.1.240230937
(Why so many digits for musescore version?)
It acts sort of like a "TAB" function where the "black square"/"focus indicator" toggles between Noteinput, Hometab and the score.
Using shift changes direction of the toggle (going backwards instead of forwards)

4.2.1 is enough, the rest is a build number, not needed for releases at all
I Just updated to today to MS 4.4 and it A still does not work .
And now F does not work probably either.
However when using Shift + F It does put a F in the first time, and second time it octaves the F. But it could be a "problem"/inconvenience if I wanted to overwrite a note to be F.
A does not work.
Using Mac OS Monterey

The F issue is new and known, see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/24333
The A issue is old and known too (and allegedly fixed), see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/15033

Thank you for reply, I will check out those links :)!

The A solution unfortunately didn't work for me. It seems the solution provided is for when the problem is that it goes to top staff when pressing A. But on my end it toggles the view on some of the windows.
I have uploaded Gif showing the problem.

Yep. that's the bug there

Now after trying to fix A* ( in which I didn't succeed) the letter F suddenly works.
I have been changing stuff in key shortcuts, and switching between languages.
*made workaround using letter M instead of A.
