Headphones downpitch playback
When I use my laptop's built-in speakers, playback works just fine, but as soon as I use my Bluetooth headphones, the entire score downpitches by about (but not exactly) 2 semitones. Because it's not an exact transposition, I can't just change the notes in the score to correct the pitch, but even if I could, I don't want to have to do that every time I want to use headphones. This is not exclusive to any specific score; I have tried all of my scores and this issue persists through all of them.

If you switched to Bluetooth headphones while Muse Score was open, that is the problem.

Huh. Do we know why this happens?

I don't, sorry.

This is probably due to the sampling rate.
When you start MuseScore with the speakers, Musescore and your computer agree on a sampling rate of e.g. 44.1 kHz.
If you connect (Bluetooth) headphones while Musescore is running, the headphones will change the sampling rate to 48 kHz, but Musescore will not notice this and will continue to deliver the data at 44.1 kHz. This leads to the effect.
And if you pay close attention, you will also notice that the piece is played a little slower.

In any event, best to not change audio devices while MuseScore is open.
