MuseScore 4 How to create "X" (muted) notes on guitar tablature?
In MuseScore 3, you could press Shift+X to turn ghost notes/muted notes on and off. It would replace the tab number with just an "x". In MuseScore 4, it just adds parentheses around the note instead and I haven't found any way to get the X's back.

You can do this at least manually. Change the note head in the properties:

is there any way to remove the parentheses from the x as well? There's still parentheses around the x and it'd be preferable to not have the parentheses like in MuseScore 3

Normally the parenthesis don't automatically. They come with the shortcut SHIFT+X. You can remove them either with the same shortcut. The other (and expected) ways to remove these don't work. I've just checked.

I Am trying to do this in Musescore 3.6.2 and I can't figure out how to get to this properties panel for a note. I just need to do this for one note as a muted quaver being the second of 2 quavers.
As of Sept. 2024(version 4.4), Shift + X is working for me. edit: But only on guitar tablature.

Using 4.4.2, this is only working on tablature staff. Not on regular staff. On regular staff, shift+x does something weird (it looks like mirroring the note head).
And it doesn't impact how the note is played actually (the note still sounds as not muted).

Good to know, I'll amend my previous post.
