Musescore 2 to musescore 4 troubles
Hello, I am coming from version 2 to version 4 of musescore and noticed some very frustrating issues.
1:
During playback, say I have several measures of whole notes and I want to skip through them but still hear them, I would tap the right arrow key to advance to the next playable note. It skips the beats where no note is playable.
In musescore 4 this changed and now I have to tap right arrow key for every quarter note & playable note and this is nearly a deal breaker for my workflow. Is there any way to adjust this so perhaps advance in whole notes rather than quarters?
When not in playback musescore 4 does still move note to note which is nice.
2:
When the window is maximized for musescore 4 the top right options to X out, minimize and maximize dissapear while musescore 2 has them present. This is absolute destruction on workflow. Windows 11 already is a fight compared to 7 (recently changed as well) and the behaviors of ALT-TAB and windows key -TAB are not as snappy. If i just had that minimize or X option I can control the application better than task manager to crush its soul. Is there any way to restore those buttons?
I saw some threads on this but no one has a solution. the attitude has been 'just kinda deal with it.'
3:
During playback there is the highlight that shows what note is being played in musescore 2, but in musescore 4 it changed to this smoothely moving bar and doesnt give me clarity of WHO IS PLAYING. Is there any way to move it from note to note?
4:
There are many other little efficiency issues that I would rather not bother you all with. Is there a standardized way to mod musescore? Depending on all this, I might just stick with musescore 2 for better workflow.
Musescore 2 generally didn't have bugs that slowed me down, it just lacked features. So thats why I want 4 but 4 slows me down.

I think these changes happened here. I couldn't figure out if this is intentional or just a regression.

thank you for that note, interesting..
Re "I might just stick with musescore 2 for better workflow."
There's always MS3.7 Evolution. It is an on-going evolution of MS3.6.2 and also has some features backported from MS4. You can connect the MIDI Out from MS3 to VST3 plugins for better sound.
