MuseScore 4.4.4 , on Mac : changing volume in the playback section of the properties of a note doesn't have any effect when I play back using MuseSounds.
When using MS Basic sounds it works correctly.

let's hope so, It's the only way to get notes to play back between standard dynamics, that are many times too far from eachother qua volume,in particular mp and mf .

Are you referring to changing a note's velocity property?
aka Properties>Playback>Notes>Velocity

Yes,not working when using MuseSounds.
When using the MS Basic sounds volume changing works.

Yes, that's the awkward state of affairs with velocity, MuseSounds, and MuseScore 4. We get "better" sound, but presently, less control over the playback due to the way MuseScore and MuseSounds treat velocity.
And now, since v4.4.x, MuseScore Studio intentionally purges note velocity when opening legacy files.
