Custom Templates not available
Musescore 4.4.4
I don't see the option to choose a custom template from the New->Create From Template dialog.

It may not be there because you don't have any templates that you created.
Make a score with the instruments you want. Got to "Save As" and browse to the Templates folder in your main MuseScore 4 folder. Name the template and save in that folder. The next time you want to use that template, the heading "My Templates will show at the bottom of the templates list.

Ahh, my templates folder is empty. So I guess now my question is where did they go? I used to have custom templates. Would an update have recreated these folders as empty?

An update from version 3 to version 4 would create a new set of folders under the main Musescore4 folder. Templates created in version 3 would remain in the Templates folder within the Musescore3 folder. On Windows the Musescore3 and Musecore4 folders are created in the Documents folder by default during installation.
However, an update from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 - i.e. still the same major version 4 - would use the templates folder within the Musescore4 folder.
So, it depends where you updated from and to.

Hmm, that's what I'd expect. I'll chalk this up to user error and recreate but will keep an eye on it in the future. Thanks.
