Multiple Jumps with Repetitions
I want to post this because it took me a long time to find this MuseScore feature and the top search results didn't go in-depth to the solution.
I'm transcribing a traditional-style Greek song, and the structure is [Intro, Verse] *3, Outro
, and all of these segments contain repeats. Since D.S.
s are honoured only once, I could write D.S. con rep. x2
and I could work with it, but there's no way for the mp3 export to reflect this.
The solution, because simply putting multiple D.S.
s is ambiguous, is the following:
At the beginning of the repeated section add the first segno
At the Segno
's properties, change the Tag
from segno
to segno1
Add the D.S.
at the end of the repeated section
At the D.S.
's properties, change the Jump to
from segno
to segno1
Enable the Play Repeats
option
Then, repeat the steps adding a new pair of Segno
and D.S.
with the common tag segno2
and make these invisible. Then you can edit the visible D.S.
to D.S. con rep. x2
.
Perhaps in a later MuseScore version jumps could work multiple times with an additional property, such as Jump Times
that defaults to 1.

Seems like you want both D.S.s to Play repeats. Otherwise the chorus and verse are different the third time around, only half the length of the first and second times.
I wonder how MuS knows which D.S. to play first. As long as they are identical, it doesn't matter, but if they are different (as you currently have them), it seems like it could play repeats the first time (that is, the second verse) and skip them the second (i.e., the third verse) or vice versa.

Yeah, I forgot to tick it in the sample I uploaded but I did it properly in my transcript. In the top results of multiple jumps questions they sometimes don't work, so when I saw that each segno can be both referenced and jumped to uniquely it was simple, but I couldn't find anyone mentioning this, thus the post :P
Good point though about skipping repeats on the first jump and enabling them on the second. I find that I can't really control the order of the jumps that play repeats unless I know exactly the order in which I added the
D.S.
s. Good thing it also skips to the last volta! In reply to Yeah, I forgot to tick it in… by Themistoklis Gkasios
You only need one 'Segno' and two 'D.S.', without renaming the jump destinations.
The first 'D.S.' that you set is also the first one that is played back. You can, for example, not select 'Play' for the first one and then select 'Play' for the second one, so that the repetitions are not played the first time but are played the second time.
