Footer problems, and a text question

I have the copyright text on both pages 1 and 2. I only want it on page 1. I looked on the Header/Footer page, and it shows $C copyright. According to the flyout, the upper case C should be page one, only. How do I get it to be that way?

I would like to have a text frame in the header appear on page 2, and all following pages, so that an entry into one of them shows on all pages (except 1.) Can I do this, and if so, how?
