How do I mute a trumpet?
I have a score that calls for a muted trumpet. So far, I haven't found a way to make it sound muted. Is it possible?

Thank you, Jojo. As usual, you are a fountain of good information.
I downloaded all the free MuseScore sounds, however, MUTE isn't one of the options for trumpet. Is there a way to request MUTE to be added in the future? For now, I'll use Dynamics to make a quieter sound.

Did you try to use the "mute" (and "open") from the Text palette?

I redid the upload before it got sent. SOOO much better! This is wonderful! I still have over 400 snippets of music to transcribe. The new sounds will make this a fun project.
