Barline showing when asked not to
This is a strange or unusual thing to do, but I'm still going to show the steps nontheless in hopes of some feedback.
1) Start a grand staff score
2) Add an extra staff in the instrument so that there is a 3 staff instrument and move it to the top of the list
3) On the top most staff, in Staff properties if you check "Hide System barline", the initial barline is no longer showing. Customarily I delete the staff bracket and make the staff small, hide measure lines etc. and add a custom bracket to drag across all three staves. All is fine. Result is unusual but it looks okay and works:
4) Now, if you take that top most staff and put it in the bottom instead of the top of the instrument (and do some tweaking with the instrument brace), the barline will be showing: you can't get rid of it even if the "Hide System barline" is checked. The ending barline is hidden because Show barlines is unchecked
My question: is there a way to get that initial barline to not show on the lower staff so that it will look like it did as it was on the top? If not, it would be nice if it worked like it does with the above staff. This may be normal behavior, but that's not the point. Why does the Hide System Barline option only work for the top staff and not the bottom one, and again is there a way to change this some how that I've overlooked? Thanks for taking the time to read and for any future response. Stay warm.
P.S. it also doesn't work for a new instrument rather than an extra staff of the same instrument.
P.P.S. This isn't that big of a deal but it's something I found while tweaking the settings.

My recollection is that this feature was added to support a very specific use case that only required working on the top staves, so that is all that is known to work.

Will this work for all staves regardless of position in 3.0?

Could you be more.specifoc.about what you are trying to accomplish? Then someone could try it out in a current build. Or you could try for yourself by installing a nightly build.

The same as outlined by worldwideweary; I want to hide the barline beginning at every system (high-lighted in red rectangle) to create cue staves:

3.0 will have the new "cutaway" staff property that does this all automatically - like hide empty staves in 2.x, but for measures. So this works for your use case. This is somewhat different than the original, which appeared to still want the staff lines to show but not the initial system barline.
Same as reported in #151031: Issues with "hide system barline" on multiple staves?
