select a range of lyrics and change the font

In the past, I asked how to select a range of lyrics and change the font on them, but I'm afraid I still can't do it.
see: https://musescore.org/en/node/125101

I write lead-sheets where the lyrics are call & response. I'd like the lead singer lyrics in one font, but use a larger or bold font for the chorus to sing. I'm usually only dealing with one line of lyrics (odd lines), but there could be more than one for the verses.

I select a range of lyrics by selecting the range of notes, ^L for lyrics, right-click a lyric, choose Select, choose "All Similar Elements in Range Selection". Now the range of lyrics is highlighted.

I've already defined a text style "Chorus" with the right properties.

But from that point, I don't have the right moves to apply the Chorus style to the hightlighted lyrics.

Thanks for any advice....Lyle

Unless I'm missing something, you will have to change each lyric individually. Selecting a range of lyrics and right clicking one to change the font will only affect the one you right click.

Any workarounds I can think of would require setting even lyric lines to one font and odd lyric lines to another font, but this would greatly limit how you can apply fonts to only part of the lyrics and add other steps to make them display correctly.

A repeat last action option would be useful for such a situation to make it go faster.

Aha! You can define a new text style in the Text->Style menu. You will want both even and odd (or possibly even lyric 1, 2, 3... I'm not sure) for proper lyric placement. You can then select a section of lyrics by right click then select>more... Once the lyrics are selected you can change the text style in the inspector on all of them at once.

You are 95% of the way there! Sounds like you've already created the style and already selected the lyrics you want to apply that style to. All you need to do now is look at the Inspector (press F8 or use View / Inspector if it isn't currently visible) and check out the "Style" dropdown.
