Copyright rules.
Lets say I'm making a big band version of the song "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. Am I allowed to post the song on musescore, or is that illegal, since its owned by Disney.

There are no special copyright rules for Musescore. The law applies like elsewhere. If a song belongs to someone else you can't publish an arrangement of it without permission from the owner; in your Case Disney (I doubt they would be generous).

The absence of copyright would suck even more. Though I agree that the way it is handled presently is truly bad and benefits the wrong crowd.
