Completely flummoxed by copyright footer.
After all these years and all the times I've tried to get this straight, I cannot.
What I want is a copyright line in the footer on the first page. (See "Copyright Line".
I have messed with the General > Footer settings and at this time have them set as in "General Footer".
I still have the copyright line on all 4 pages.
How can I get what I want?

Just use $C
(upperCase)
The default footer simply contains "$:copyright:". This would place a message on all pages. If you want it on first page only, replace that with "$C".
Then, when you create a score, just enter your copyright information into the wizard along with the title etc, and you get exactly what you want. Or, if you forget to enter the copyright information when first creating the score, simply go to File / Score Properties and enter it there.
To fix scores where you have manually edited the footer, simply go back to Style / General and change it to "$C", then enter the copyright info into Score Properties.

Thank you. That worked.
