Split measure note values
I'm having some trouble getting the layout of this piece right. On page 5 of the PDF, you can see that the second measure on the second line is split between beats 2 and 3. I used the "Split measure" functionality (outlined here: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/measure-operations#split-join), but you can see that Musescore changed the dotted half note to a half note tied to a quarter note. Is there a way around this so that it stays a dotted half note like in the PDF?
I also can't get the first half of the split measure to go to the same line as the previous measure as in the PDF, no matter how many spacing adjustments I do.
(This is for Openscore).

You can't do that in MuseScore without some unacceptable results for OpenScore. I would suggest you keep it as a single measure so you can properly annotate it. When I join the measure, both end up on a single line without issues. You can then fix the tied notes by selecting the 1/2 note and pressing "." the ties will go away.
That's kind of what I thought.
In terms of spacing, I got it to work by setting the "Leading Space" for all the tuplets in those 2 measures to -2.0. Is that an acceptable workaround?

It's a little crowded, but otherwise looks OK. I was thinking of putting each measure on it's own line so it looks better, but that will throw off your page breaks and put an orphan system on the last page.
