Depends on what you define as "not working".
Consider downloaded the 2.1 release in AppImage format and run that.
Unless you can upgrade ubuntu, AppImage is the best way to go. My hardware does not support ubuntu above 16.04. I have MS 2.0.3 AppImage running on xubuntu 16.04 with a failing 4GB memory card, onboard graphics from several years ago, onboard soundcard. My main problem now is not with MuseScore but with finding a supplier of coal for my computer.
I'd go for AppImage 2.0.3 rather than 2.1 unless they´ve fixed the bug in 2.1 that means that you can't use the numeric keypad in ubuntu.

I have no idea of the status of the numeric keypad, but I can attest that 2.1 fixes so many hundreds of other issues and adds so many useful new features that unless your livelihood depends on ability to use the numeric keypad, the vast majority of users are far better off with 2.1 than any older version.

Hello there, I've got the same problem with numeric keypad. I'm stuck with appimage version 2.0.3 because on newer versions numeric keypad is dead. Ubuntu 14.04 on a Sony Vaio i5.
Is this a known issue? Do I have to report a bug ?
