Capability to mute or solo voices or clefs

E.g., for a piano staff, it'd be nice to be able to mute the bass or treble clef for playback (I'm told this can be done in Finale).

Use the attached template to have separated instrument per staff.

Same question. In the attached score, I want to play bass clef only. How can I do that? This Feature works quite well in Overture which is called Mute or Solo of "Track". Does MuseScore has the same or similar Feature for this request?

Same answer as before, just 5 1/2 years later: you'd need to change that one piano into 2 pianos, one with the treble staff and the other with the bass staff, then add the brace and join the barlines, tweak the Instrument names, so it looks the same, but still are 2 different instrumentes and hence 2 channels in the mixer.

This situation will improve with the next version of MuseScore, there the Mixer looks like this (here partly in German, sorry about that):
