Incredible problems with 2.3.1
Hi,
I downloaded the latest update last night, and do I wish I hadn't.
I am on a laptop with 4 Gb RAM, 3Ghz processor, Windows 10 version 1803 and 1Tb Hard drive.
So far I have spent most of my time getting MS to start up rather than working with it.
It either takes ages to start up, or it just crashes, or it stops responding and hangs, it has so far prooven impossible to do anything usedul at all with it, whether I had the MDL drum extension installed or not.
I have tried uninstalling MS completely and re-installing it, all to no avail.
I have done a virus and malware scan, and found no issues there.
Has anyone else experienced siilar issues, please?
So far I have always used MS with no major problems.
Any help wil be much appreciated.

MDL is known to cause very long load times, but those go down to normal without MDL.

Hi, Jojo,
thank you for your reply.
But even without MDL, the problem is just the same.

Ah, OK,
I'll have to try that one.
I'll be in touch.
Thank you.

Great!
Thanks for the tip.
After reverting to factory settings, the start-up time is normal.

Chances are you had additional soundfonts loaded into the synthesizer; MuseScore currently loads/unpacks them all fully at startup currently (one of the reasons MDL makes the startup time so damn long).
These have been removed from the synthesizer after your reset to defaults.
I started having similar issues with Musescore 2.3.2 after updating to W10 1803.
I reverted back to W10 1709 and everything is fine.
Sounds like some kind of incompatibility issue with W10 1803?
