LAME cannot be opened on MacOS Sierra
Hallo,
it seems that with one of the latest MacOS updates (I cannot tell which one exactly, I haven't been using Musescore so often lately) something has changed that prevents Musescore from opening the LAME library.
I've tried copying it in different places but it's no use.
it may be the same problem Audacity has:

With the latest update Audacity could see the library again (in another location as the last version).
Anybody had the same issue and has found a solution?
Sierra 10.12.6
Musescore 2.1

Which LAME? See https://musescore.org/en/handbook-advanced-topics/file-formats#mp3, which hints at http://thalictrum.com/en/products/lame for a 64bit version, and the hint to rename it to libmp3lame.dylib

Thank you very much, reinstalling LAME from the second link solved the issue (without need to rename anything). I wonder why it stopped working at all.

Yes, for some reason that link/website is gone. A copy it found at https://web.archive.org/web/20171230073819/http://thalictrum.com/en/pro…
The good news is: MuseScore 2.3.2 does include MP3 support for Mac now too
