Drum rolls
Creating realistic drum press rolls would be highly desirable for jazz scoring. Tremolos don't really seem up to it. I'm thinking that adding an instrument which is essentially a controlled 'noise' source would work. White noise or a 'steam' pipe might be good, especially with hairpin crescendos. Does something like this exist?

There are roll samples in the MDL extension have you tried that?

I'm using MuseScore 2.3.2 and know nothing about the MDL extension. Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can find out how to access and use it.

Thanks for the info. I've installed the MDL extension and getting acquainted with it. Looks really good.
Now if I could find a way to create new keyboard shortcuts in the drumset, I'd be done with this topic.
(I haven't been able to select an instrument and make a new shortcut for it. Of course, I can still use the
provided instruments without a shortcut.)

You can only define A-G, but if that's what you're wanting to learn how to do, start by hitting Edit Drumset button, and/or reading the Handbook section on drum notation.

Thanks. I thought it was possible to define other shortcuts. Maybe this should be a feature request.

The problem with allowing more shortcuts is that they would interfere with existing shortcuts.
