Musescore 3 crashing with Segmentation error
I'm trying to add 2 additional percussion staves to a Brass Band score, but this always results in a crash with a Segmentation Error.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how you're trying to add the percussion staves, but there are two unpitched percussion staves on this file.

You should be able to right click the drum sets and change instruments, define sounds and update the instrument names as needed.
Clarification of what was happening to you would be helpful so it can be fixed.

Hi Mike.
Thanks for your response.
I am already using the Timpani (tuned) and Percussion (untuned) staves, but need 1 more tuned percussion stave (tubular bells) and 1 more untuned percussion stave, as all 4 parts will be playing simultaneously.
The 2nd untuned percussion stave you can see on the file must be the one I added which caused the application to crash.
I'm adding the staves through the Edit / Instruments menu.
I did adjust the margins to try and accommodate the extra staves.
I've attached the dump which occurred during the crash.

Ian

Strange, My post must have sounded like nonsense. When I added two drumset parts before, I thought it took, but it seems it crashed instead and I simply uploaded the exact same file. This time I double checked. I added a Chimes (Tubular bells) and a drumset you can customize, then moved them both above the existing percussion and it didn't crash. I then closed and reopened the score to make sure they are there. and moved the new percussion below the drumset like it looks in the attached file.

The crash needs some investigation to see what causes the crash, maybe there's something wrong with the template, maybe there is a procedure that will lead to the crash.

Brilliant Mike, it looks like you've got it working. I just opened the file you created and it's not crashed.
Thanks for your help.

Alas, I can reproduce. There is a problem, and not so good. Related to the Auto Save function, I fear :(
Report filled soon.

It's probably related to save rather than auto save because I have auto save turned off. I added this score to the discussion in #280693: Crash when adding new instrument, which may or may not be related.

You can reproduce a crash with Auto save turned off with this "Henry V" file?

Yes, I added two drumsets and saved the file and it crashed. I keep Auto Save turned off. Using the official 3.0 release on windows 10.

Indeed, so two aspects at first glance right now. Need more investigation.

Tricky, this one! At end, I got it. The totally improbable marriage between slurs with custom offset, and a new instrument that must added in the Dialog to another instrument with a different clef (Percussion or Tablature). I would never have bet before ! Slurs layout, and saving problem, something like this I guess right now. Report soon.
