Fixed Position for System and Staff Text
Dear members of the musescore community,
In the new musescore version (3.0.1.20439) I cannot seem to move "system text" or "staff text" to my desired positions in the score. Is that a new restriction of the latest musescore version or are there any tricks to make it possible? In case the text positions are restricted in the new version, I would strongly urge to reintroduce that option (as it was the case in musescore 2), for otherwise I have different text tools piling up on the same spot, making the score hard to read.
Thank you for your comments or suggestions!

Use the inspector to move it, or disable autoplace

very helpful - thank you!

Btw, is there a shortcut for "disable autoplace"? Seems to be a feature I continually will have to refer to. A shortcut would be quite helpful.

You can ask for one at https://musescore.org/en/node/add/project_issue?pid=1236. Set the severity to S5-Suggestion.

Thanks for #282063: Shortcut for enable/disable autoplace requested
As I mentioned in the issue, though, it should be fairly rare to need to move a staff text in a way that requires disabling autoplace. This would happen primarily if you are trying to use staff text for something that is actually something else entirely, like a tempo or rehearsal marking, or chord symbol, or lyric, etc. Can you attach a score showing what it is you are doing so we can understand better?
