Some sites uses Yandex Metrica as analysis tool (similar to Google Analytics).
Musescore uses a web-engine (webKit) in "Start-Center" (F4 for Open; See right side).
Maybe this is the reason why you are seeing those requests (from web engine).

I see. So if I understand correctly, the user's benefit would be to have targeted suggestions when the Start Center opens, correct?
Thanks...

Open source software should not track us without letting us know and accept. I don't like it.

It also connects to www.google-analytics.com at launch.
The reason I know this is because I use LittleSnitch. I get alerts for every attempted connection, which I can allow or deny. The problem is that the LittleSnitch research assistant only gives generic explanations as to what those attempted connections mean.

Probably:
Since the information and announcements shown on the right side of the "Start-Center" are a (sort of) web page, and there is an automatically generated tracking-code on the web page (most likely from a php script), the webKit engine is also receiving this link.
Don't need to look for deeper meanings here (spying, etc.), I think.

I wasn't thinking that there's any malicious script running in the background. After your first reply I was thinking it's probably something to personalize what suggestions it flashes to each user on the start page. I guess that's what it is.
