dialog box orientation horizontal orientation preferred to vertical
I keep the dialogue box of the inspector and palette open and find their orientation to be blocking my music. Is it possible to chose the horizontal orientation of dialogue boxes, instead of verticle? Horizontal dialogue boxes will lay below the staff, instead of intersecting it.

You can't do what you ask, but you can undock one of the dialogs and drag it to the other one. When the other one turns blue (and doesn't change sizes) drop it and they will be tabbed rather than both displayed at the same time. This is how I and a lot of other people set up their desktops.

Thanks for sharing this image. Can i do this with musescore 2? How do I set the screen like this?

It follows...
... Drag the palette out of the MuseScore window.
Double-click on the palette toolbar: the palette is anchored or released;
See: https://musescore.org/sites/musescore.org/files/Palette%20dock%201.PNG
There was also an animation, but I haven't tracked it down yet.

I see now, they are not docked. You have made the MuseScore window smaller and arranged the inspector, palettes and filter selector outside of the MuseScore window. I would consider this if I had a bigger screen.

I will check it out.
