Up-bow and Down-bow?
Hi I was just wondering is someone knew how I can write in up and down bow in my music using musescore. I have tried looking, but I just can't seem to find it. Thanks.

These markings are in the Articulations and Ornaments Palette. See attached image (I've underlined them, hover the mouse or pointer over them and you wil see the marking text)
You probably are using basic workspace. Change to advanced at the bottom of the pallette! The bow signs are on the articulations pallette

Thank you! That helped me with the same problem.
You can also define shortcuts for them under edit(or MuseScore)->Preferences...->Shortcuts.

A different sound from Up-bow and Down-bow would be more important that the visual sign. BUT... Unfortunately, the standard General MIDI world forgot this feature.
The question would be... If some soundfont file had the two different sounds... Could MuseScore play it? ???

Unless you repeatedly down bow or up bow short notes, the sound difference is so minute it wouldn't be worth making the different sounds.
That's a good idea, especially with string instruments like violin... gosh may be type / and \ to make \/ for an upbow symbol or type the the letter V . The best I can come up with for a downwards bow symbol is /7 using / and a 7

I use ctrl+d, ctrl+d for down bow and ctrl+d,ctrl+v for upbow. This enables me to enter the symbols without moving my hand off the note names.
