strange midi patch assignments
I'm having a strange midi patch assignment come up when I add an instrument to a score.
Here's some examples.
I hit the "I" key to insert instruments
Add Acoustic guitar and midi patch comes out as Chamber Strings SSO
Add Viola and midi patch is Alto Sax
Add Drumset and side stick sound is an acoustic bass sound, pitch c#
I work around the problem by opening the Mixer (F10) and resetting the midi patch to the correct instrument.
I'm using a stock version 3.0.5.992 and don't have any plugins added.
Any idea what could cause this?
Thanks

You have a custom sound font loaded?

Yup. That solved it. I emptied the Musescore3\SoundFonts directory and things worked as I expected.
I assumed that midi patch numbers had been standardized long ago. I guess I was wrong, doh.
Thanks for the speedy response.

Most SSO soundfont's sf2 versions isn't GM compliant and the patch assignment is completely different. (Maybe there is a GM compatible version, but I don't know where it is or whether or not.)
It is normal to see different patches than you expect.
Make assignments from the mixer by looking at the instrument names.

Thanks. I applied Mike320's recommendation and that solve it.
